Gelatin and bovine serum albumin (BSA), two readily available biopolymers, were examined for their effect on solubility and supersaturation of drugs because of their capacity to interact with drugs (e.g. via hydrogen bonding, van der Waals or electrostatic interactions, etc.). Carbamazepine, cinnarizine, diazepam, itraconazole, nifedipine, indomethacin, darunavir (ethanolate), ritonavir, fenofibrate, griseofulvin, ketoconazole and naproxen were selected accordingly as twelve structurally different model BCS Class II drugs.
