Most aggregates used in concrete are from natural origin, obtained from quarries or dredged from the river- or sea-bed. Natural aggregates are finite in quantity and their exploitation isn’t without effect on fauna and flora. Therefore the demand for recycling aggregates has been increasing for a couple of years. These recycled aggregates are being used in combination with natural aggregates. Currently, the largest part of recycled aggregates are used in rather low rated applications such as road-foundations and parking lots.
