Energy and Resource Efficient Manufacturing - Unit Process Analysis and Optimisation (Energie- en grondstofefficiënt produceren - Analyse en optimalisatie van productiemachines)

In contrast with material production, manufacturing processes, as used f or discrete part manufacturing, are poorly documented in term of environ mental footprint. In this study we`ll document the environmental impact for a wide range of processes (e.g. laser cutting, selecitive laser melt ing (SLM), selective laser sintering (SLS), electrical discharge ma chining (EDM) ) and develop directives for machine builders to improve the eco-efficiency of their products. To reach this aim, 5 obje ctives are established: 1. Cr eating LCI-datasets for a selection of non-conventional processes.2. Examining the impact of part-, produ ction- and company factors on LCI-datasets.3. Supplying feedback to Flemisch machine builders.4 .
