La modernización del sistema de voto electrónico en Bélgica: un sistema en busca de transparencia

Belgium was one of the first countries to introduce e-voting in its electoral process. Belgium's electoral law, enacte din 1994, regulates electronic voting systems for use in general elections. These systems constitute tools that promise security, secrecy, reliability and validity in any electoral process. The decision to introduce e-voting was intended as a way to resolve some problems of validity and trust affecting the traditional electoral system. The goals of reducing the costs of elections, obtaining results quickly, and to make rightly polling-station, were all taken into account in enacting the law. HOwever, the system in force has been criticised from several perspectives, mainly for its insufficient transparency, leading public authorities to improve the system. Taking advantage that the maintenance contracts of the prior system are coming to an end, Belgium is preparing itself for a new e-voting system.
