This paper discusses different off-the-shelf technologies for energy measurement and communication that are useful for a global energy management system (EMS). These technologies are aimed to be used in an energy management system that is implemented in LabVIEWTM to control the electricity demand in a more efficient way. In addition a SWOT-analysis of the different considered systems summarizes the practical experiences and gives some opportunities for further development of EMS.status: publishe
