The magnetic anisotropy and the temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility, of Bi2Te3, Sb2Te3 and several intermetallic compounds of them, have been measured between room temperature and 1.3° K. There has been investigated one series of pure single crystals and two different doped series of polycrystals. The anisotropy is ascribed to the valence electrons of which the effective mass is calculated. However the temperature dependence of the susceptibility is ascribed to the current carriers of which the number is calculated. With the theories of Busch and Mooser, and of Stevens and Crawford, the activation energy and the average square freedom-number could be calculated.
