(Figure Presented) ZSM-5 at work: Acid-catalyzed condensation of furfuryl alcohol in the pores of zeolite ZSM-5 was followed under the fluorescence microscope. During the life-time of a catalyst, from the reaction start to deactivation, the reactivity of the different crystal segments varies.
