p-methoxycinnamic acid (pMCA) is a promising active compound which has antibacterial, anticancer and antiinflammation effects originally obtained from Kempferia galanga Linn. However, pMCA is poorly soluble in water (0,712 mg/mL water at 25˚C) which can affect to low bioavailability and onset of action of pMCA. Therefore, forming inclusion complex with β- cyclodextrin (βCD) was made to improve its solubility and dissolution.
