The objectives of the research presented herein were to continue the previous studies and to evaluate the treatment effects of the intercepting trench. This investigation afforded sufficient time after the construction of the trench for the entire landfill area to reflect the influence of the trench. In conducting this investigation, the direction of the ground water flow was defined and various chemical analyses of the ground water were made to attain these objectives
