Students´ social emotional health and links to empathy and self-esteem in Lithuania

Priority of today's educational psychologists in schools is well-being of students in schools. The main objective of this research: to investigate social emotional health links to Empathy and Self-Esteem of Lithuanian adolescents. Method: Social and Emotional Health Survey–Secondary (SEHS–S) (Furlong et al., 2014), Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI) (Davis, 1980), Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (SES) (Rosenberg, 1989). The sample: 935 students (12-18 years old) from various Lithuanian regions and schools. Results and conclusions. Age and gender related differences in adolescents’ social and emotional health dimensions were identified; positive correlation of adolescents’ social emotional health (SEHS–S) with empathy and self-esteem were identified, they are in line with the data of research on development of emotional competence of mental health and adolescents development trajectories.
