The ornated scabbards of France from the Vth to the IInd century B.C. The remarkable growth of the corpus of decorated scabbards of Celtic swords found in France allows a first evaluation which points out the great number of pieces dated in the Vth century B.C., as well as the leading part of the Marne region. The IVth century is the period of standardization of the scabbards and their ornementation. Until now, few pieces can be dated in the first half of the century, probably because of the problems of identification of the iron pieces.
