Paul's argumentation in 2 Corinthiens 10 to 13. Recent research on the nature of a text has brought to light an almost universal defect of historico-critical exegesis, inadequate analysis of the argumentation as it is set out. Though not representative of all possible cases, the example chosen is quite characteristic. One finds here a structure frequent in Paul's writing, a concentric presentation of the ABCB'A' type. It then appears clearly that the apostle's main aim in these four chapters, is neither, as is so often claimed, polemical nor apologetical, but pastoral.
