Characterization of defects contained in minerals is fundamental to know the relationships between defects and crystal genesis. Transmission electron microscopy is useful for such a characterization. Principles of « two-beam » and « weak-beam » techniques are described and limitations for their application are given.La caractérisation des défauts présents dans les minéraux est une étape essentielle dans la connaissance des relations entre défauts et genèse cristalline.
