First observations on the caterpillar of Morpho achilles : comparison with M. helenor and M. granadensis (Lepidoptera, Nymphalidae, Morphinae). For the first time, in north-eastern Peru, caterpillars of Morpho achilles (Linnaeus, 1758) have been found in the field and successfully reared. The hostplant is a tree belonging to the genus Pterocarpus (Fabaceae). The caterpillars of Morpho achilles and M. helenor (Cramer, 1776) share the same characteristics, and are close to that of M. granadensis Felder & Felder, 1867.
