In the studied range of pH (0.02 M, 0.10 M and 0.50 M sodium hydroxide solutions) and temperature (25, 60 and 80 °C), the zeolites 4 A and 13 X keep during at least two months a perfect structural stability. The analysis of the samples by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy shows that solubilization is stoichiometric. A pseudo-equilibrium of solubility is reached more or less rapidly. But, because of secondary phenomena, measured values of solubility are biased when the percentage of dissolved zeolite is low. These errors become negligible if the measurement is carried out with a high enough liquid/solid ratio (500).
