Background : Psychiatric disorders have been known to occur by the interaction of biologic, psychologic and social factors. A family can affect the occurrence of psychiatric disorders as a primary social factor. On the other hand, psychiatric disorders can affect family function. Therefore, we studied to compare family function between the families of psychiatric inpatients and those of normal persons, using Family APGAR and FACES Ⅲ.
