Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) is the dominant transport technology used in numerous high capacity networks, based on optical infrastructure. Given the importance of costs associated to thes networks, resource management is becoming increasingly important, especialmy how the optical circuits (lightpaths) are routed throughout the network. This requires the use of efficient algorithms with provides routing strategies with the lowest cost.
