Literature has been contemplated throughout history as a possible means of language teaching; nevertheless, it has not been completely established in EFL classrooms as contrary points of view can be found regarding its implementation in the class, especially when referring to the Spanish education system. The intervention proposal presented in this paper is aimed to assess the value of including literary texts in the English teaching process as it has proven to reinforce the learning experience of the students, allowing them to grow both academically and personally.
