"August, 1947.""Reprint 8 M. First edition. April, 1942."Commercial fertilizers are carriers of nutrients for plants. They are designed to be applied to the soil for improvement in crop growth. They do not contain a ll the chemical elements required by plants, but only those commonly deficient in most soils for better yields of crops. In the purchase of fertilizers as means of getting better crop yields, it is essential to be familiar with, (a), the kinds and amounts of plant nutrients the fertilizers usually contain, and, (b), the effort of the inspection service of the state and of the fertilizer producers in supplying farmers with efficient fertilizers."--Page 1.8 pages : illustration
