Numerical models are a tool to better understand oceanic processes and their interaction with the atmosphere and biogeochemical processes on different temporal and spatial scales. Model predictions of future climate under different scenarios are used to formulate international protocols with far-reaching consequences for the well-being of the world’s population. However, models used to produce those predictions are not perfect.
