The Interleave-Division Multiple Access IDMA) system relies on interleaving as the onlymeans to separate users. In this paper, an adapted block interleaver is proposed for IDMA systems. The bit error rate (BER) performance of the IDMA system which uses the proposed interleaver scheme is discussed. Simulation results show that the proposed interleaver scheme has a similar performance to the random interleaver. Furthermore, the proposedinterleaver performs better than the helical interleaver in an IDMA system
