The quest for meaning is a central theme broadly seen in the humanist, phenomenological, existentialist theories of the 1950s and 1960s, influenced by the Second World War. Particularly, Carl Rogers, Abraham Maslow, George Kelly and Rollo May offer a wide range of perspectives on the meaning of life. However, Viktor E. Frankl is best known person for the meaning and purpose of life, as he has developed a psychotherapy technique called logotherapy in addition to the work he has published.
