Water is the essential element of human life. Continuously depleting water resources both qualitatively and quantitatively enforcesthe people to use water resources economically. As it was in all developing countries, agriculture is the largest water consuming sector in Turkey.About 73% of total water consumption is allocated for agricultural uses. Therefore, water saving should be initiated from agricultural sector.Modern irrigation techniques with high irrigation water use efficiencies are the primary water saving measures.
