Tarımda Su Kullanımı ve Su Tasarruf Teknikleri

Water is the essential element of human life. Continuously depleting water resources both qualitatively and quantitatively enforcesthe people to use water resources economically. As it was in all developing countries, agriculture is the largest water consuming sector in Turkey.About 73% of total water consumption is allocated for agricultural uses. Therefore, water saving should be initiated from agricultural sector.Modern irrigation techniques with high irrigation water use efficiencies are the primary water saving measures. Beside these techniques, re-use ofwastewaters and water harvesting techniques are also common for water saving in agriculture. In present study, information was provided aboutwater use in agricultural sector of Turkey and water saving technologies in agriculture.
