A multi-element preconcentration procedure for solid phase extraction on Chromosorb 108 as bathocuproinedisulfonic acid chelates and flame atomic absorption spectrometric determinations of some heavy metal ions in environmental samples is proposed in the present work. The influences of analytical parameters including pH of the aqueous solution, amounts of reagents, flow rates of sample and eluent solutions, sample volume etc. on the quantitative recoveries of copper, cadmium, lead, zinc, manganese, iron, chromium, nickel and cobalt ions were investigated.
