The Effect of Material Parameters to Thermal Parameters in Heat Protector Structures Produced from Chicken Feather Fibers

It is expected that clothes that serve as a barrier between the human body and the environment will make the human body feel thermally comfortable. In order to achieve thermal comfort, the material parameters from which the clothes are obtained have critical significance. The material properties of the winter top clothes in which thermal insulating filling materials are used, influence the thermal parameters of the clothes. For the first time in this study, the heat protection properties of the chicken feather fibers used as filling materials in winter garments are examined by us. For this purpose, heat protection structures with different contents and different amounts of materials are developed in heat protection structures. The effect of thermal parameters such as thickness, volumetric density and air permeability of the thermal insulation properties of the materials depending on the amount of filling material in the structure was examined with the regression model obtained with Minitab 17. Investigations have shown thatthe parameter which has the most effect on the specific thermal resistance values of the heat protective structures in which the filler materials are used is the air permeability parameter and it is followed by the thickness and volumetric density parameters.
