Bu çalışma, 2009-2011 yılları arasında, Ege Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi, Tarla Bitkileri Bölümü’nün Bornova deneme tarlalarında, dünyada yaygın olarak kullanılan 8 değişik cinse (Buchloe sp., Cynodon sp., Disticlis sp., Panicum sp., Paspalum sp., Pennisetum sp., Stenotaphrum sp., Zoysia sp.) dahil toplam 14 farklı sıcak iklim (C4) çim buğdaygilinin, Akdeniz iklim koşullarına adaptasyonunu ve çim performanslarını ortaya koymak amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Sonuçlar, incelenen 14 farklı çim cins ve çeşidinin vejetatif olarak kolaylıkla çoğaltılabildiğini ve kış mevsiminde tümünün dormansiye girdiğini göstermiştir.
