In order to develop resilience, one has to encounter a stressor. Nurses encounter various traumatic situations particularly due to distressing and stressful work life. Therefore, it is important for nurses to strengthen their resilience in terms of coping with difficulties, adapting to new situations, having realistic and positive future expectations and protecting their work and daily life. If nurses have sufficient resilience, burnout and the rate of leaving work or resigning decrease, posttraumatic growth develops, and work satisfaction increases.
