Somatostatin, hücre proliferasyonunu inhibe eden bir nöropeptidtir. Somatostatin analoglarının hepatosellüler karsinomlarda yaygın olarak kullanılmasına rağmen malign hepatositlerin reseptör ekspresyonu hakkında bilinenler yeterli değildir. Elli üç hepatosellüler karsinom olgusunda parafin kesitlerde immunohistokimyasal olarak somatostatin reseptör 1 (SSTR1) uygulandı. SSTR1 pozitifliği ile morfolojik parametreler arasında bir korelasyon saptanamadı. Ancak, Kİ67 ile SSTR1 arasında anlamlı negatif ilişki görüldü.
