THE EFFECTS OF UNMIXE AND MIXED APPLIED TOBACCO WASTE ON RUNOFF, SOIL LOSS, DRAINAGE, pH AND EC

WOS: 000399966600034In this study, 3 soil samples of Typical Xerofluvent soil families were taken from The Agriculture Research, Practices and Production Farm in Menemen. The soil samples passed through 8 mm were placed into erosion plot, sized 30x45x15 cm and it's under a drain pipe, and different ratios applied (0, 10, 20 and 40 t/ha) of tobacco waste (unmixed, mixed). After that rain storm of 30, 60 and 90 mm/h was applied on these plots during 1 hour. After rainstorms applications, pH and EC ( mu S/cm) were measured from the soils and drained waters. Runoff, soil loss and drainage waters were calculated after rainstorms applications. As a result of research, tobacco waste in this study reduced runoff by 10-86 % and by 29-100 %, soil loss by 100 % and 86-100 %, and it increased drainage by 6-640 % and by 39406 % in the unmixed and mixed treatments compared with controls for each soil sample and rainfall intensities, respectively.
