Commercial applications of the natural polymers, chitin and chitosan are increasing. Chitosan is a biopolymer extracted from chitin, which is the main structural component of the shels of crustacean shells, squid pens and some planktons. Nowadays, chitosan is used in the industrial, agricultural, medical and pharmaceutical sectors.
