Bruselloz, gelişmiş ülkelerde seyrek görülmesine karşın, Türkiye'de halen halk sağlığı sorunu olmaya devam eden zoonotik bir infeksiyon hastalığıdır. Pansitopeni brusellozun nadir görülen bir komplikasyonudur. Onbeş yaşında kız hasta; uzamış ateş, sol gözde kanama ve halsizlik nedeniyle başvurdu. Fizik muayene ve laboratuvar incelemeleri sonucu hastada subkonjunktival hemoraji, hepatosplenomegali, pansitopeni, kemik iliği aspirasyonunda hemofagositoz ve histiyositoz saptandı. İnfeksiyon ilişkili hemofagositik sendrom düşünülen hastadan alınan hemokültürde Brucella melitensis üredi.
