Bu tezde, çeşitli bor-nitrür nano kafes yapıların, B12N12, B24N24, B36N36, B48N48 ve B60N60, hidrojen depolama kapasiteleri DFT de dahil olmak üzere ab initio kuantum kimyasal yöntemlerle hesapsal olarak incelenmiştir. DFT ve MP2 yöntemleri en küçük nano kafes yapısı olan B12N12 içerisine bir hidrojen molekülü depolanmasının kompleksi kararsız hale getirdiğini göstermiştir, B24N24 nano kafes yapısının içerisine bir hidrojen molekülü kararlı olarak yerleştirilebilir, 2H2@B36N36 kompleksi H2@B36N36 kompleksine göre daha kararlıdır. En kararlı 4H2@ B48N48 kompleksi 4 hidrojen molekülünün B48N48 tarafından sığabilmesiyle oluşur ve 7H2@B60N60 kompleksi enerji bakımından en kararlı komplekstir.
