The thesis focuses on hybridization of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) system with lead-acid batteries and supercapacitors. Advantages of fuel cell technology can be utilized more efficiently by fuel cell hybridization. There are many different hybrid powertrain topologies which can be used in vehicle applications. Hence, hybrid systems have to be designed individually for each application and drive cycle. This thesis was performed to study PEMFC system and different hybrid powertrain topologies with simulation models and experimental tests.
