A new approach for ranking universities based on student satisfaction

Türkiye'deki artan üniversite sayısının etkisiyle üniversiteler arasında rekabetve kıyaslama günden güne daha dikkat çekici hale gelmiştir. Dünya üniversiteleri sıralamasının kullandığı ölçütler incelendiğinde ağırlıklı olarak bilimselyayınların dikkate alındığı görülmüştür. Bunlar arasında akademik personelinmakale, atıf, bildiri, hakemlik, jürilik, ödül, patent vb. bilimsel çalışmaları yüksek ağırlıklara sahiptir. Üniversitelerin araştırma merkezleri olmasının yanı sıra eğitim kurumları da olduğu ve bu eğitimi sunmuş oldukları öğrencilerin deüniversiteye bakışı şüphesiz çok önemlidir. Bu çalışmada ulusal bir sıralamasistemi olan URAP ve uluslararası sıralama sistemlerinden olan QS World,Webometrics, Leiden, ARWU, Times Higher Education, The Center forMeasuring University Performance, FORBES, U.S. News ölçütleri ve ağırlıkları incelenmiştir. Buradaki ölçütlerin harmanlaması yapılarak farklı sıralama sistemleri ile birlikte öğrenci memnuniyetlerini de ölçebilecek çeşitli ölçütler ile üniversite sıralamalarında yeni bir sistem önerisi ortaya konulmuştur. Çalışma sonunda ortaya çıkacak yeni ölçütler, üniversitelerin iyileştirmeye açık yanlarını görebilmelerini sağlayacak olması sebebiyle yararlı olacağıdüşünülmektedir. Ayrıca üniversite tercihleri yapan öğrenciler için de üniversiteleri sundukları hizmet bakımından karşılaştırma imkânı sağlayacaktır.Under the influence of an increasing number of universities in Turkeybetween competition and benchmarking from day to day has become moreremarkable. The criteria used by the world university rankings were mainlyseen taken into account when examining the scientific publication. Theseinclude academic staff of the article referred to, report, referee, jury, awards,patents and so on. scientific studies have higher weight. In addition to the lackof university research centers as well as educational institutions and also inview of university students that are submitted no doubt that education is veryimportant. In this study, one of the national ranking system that URAP andinternational ranking system QS World, Webometrics, Leiden, ARW, TimesHigher Education, The Center for Measuring University PerformanceForbes, US News criteria and weight were examined. Made by blending thecriteria to measure the satisfaction of the students and other services here ithas put forward a new system proposal with the various criteria in ranking universities. New criteria will emerge at the end of the study would be beneficialbecause of the university will enable them to see the open side improvementsare being considered. It will also provide the opportunity to compare the services they offer universities for students who have college choices
