Bu tez çalışmasında iki boyutlu Sonlu Elemanlar Metodu hakkında temel bilgiler verildi. Akışkanlar mekaniğinin temel denklemlerinden olan iki boyutlu kararlı Navier-Stokes denklem sisteminin sayısal çözüm mekanizması bu metod ile oluşturuldu. İki boyutlu ve sınırlarının bir kısmı hareketli olan bir akış bölgesi (kapakla sürülen kavite) için sayısal çözümler elde edildi. Kavite içerisindeki akış yapıları ve çatallanmalar incelendi.
