O rápido crescimento na utilização de ligas com memoria de forma (LMF) trabalhando em regime de superelasticidade, principalmente aquelas do sistema NiTi, em aplicações que abrangem os campos da medicina, odontologia e engenharia em geral, faz com que um conhecimento mais especifico do comportamento desses materiais quando submetidos a solicitações mecânicas cíclicas seja de fundamental importância.
