This paper examines the international marketing program for agricultural and food products from Serbia, in order to encourage the development of rural areas. The desk research was used in realization of the research task. At the same time, quantitative methods were used, especially time series analysis. The diagnosis of the condition in this area indicates that successful participation in the international market is restricted by insufficient assortment of agri-food products compared to the current market offer in the developed world, while the research for the better utilization of existing capacities by introducing new production lines and products is neglected.
