Not AvailableThe paper presents the results of an investigation carried out in four villages of Udaipur district in southern Rajasthan through a sample survey of farmers. The main source of power in agriculture is still animals (bullocks). Irrigation operation has been substantially mechanized through electric and diesel engine power for lifting water. Therefore, the major farm power used in land preparation, sowing, weeding, plant protection and harvesting comes from animals and human beings. Hence, large number of manually operated and bullock drawn implements were promoted in the region under various CSS during ninth five year plan in the district. Not Availabl
