Evaluation Of Bt Cotton Hybrids South Zone 2007-08

SabeshThe All India Coordinated Cotton Improvement Project of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research was assigned the task of evaluating the performance of Bt cotton hybrids in South Zone during 2007-08. In the first year intra-hirsutum hybrid trial, two sets of trials viz., Trial Set ‘A’ consisting of 23 Bt test hybrids and three check hybrids (one Bt check hybrid (RCH 2 Bt), non Bt check hybrid (Bunny) and local non Bt check hybrid) and another Trial Set ‘B’ consisting of 23 Bt test hybrids and same set of check hybrids were conducted. Both the sets of trials were carried out at 11 locations of South Zone with six under irrigated conditions and five under rainfed situations. The irrigated locations were: Warangal (Andhra Pradesh), Raichur, Siruguppa and Beemarayangudi (Karnataka) and Coimbatore and Srivilliputhur (Tamil Nadu) and the rainfed locations were Lam (Guntur), Nandyal, Adilabad (Andhra Pradesh), Dharwad (Karnataka) and Aruppukottai (Tamil Nadu).Not Availabl
