The synthesis and spectral properties of benzofuran derivative bis-chalcone

Khellin, a natural furanochromone, was isolated from the fruits of Ammi visnaga L. by using a rapid and easy technique. It was then hydrolyzed with 10% KOH to obtain khellinone.
