Miyake) Shoemaker] mısır yaprak yanıklığı hastalıklarının yaygınlığı, 2014 ve 2015 yıllarında 5 coğrafik bölgeye ait 13 ilde yapılan sürvey çalışmaları ile belirlenmiştir. Samsun, Mersin, Ordu, Kahramanmaraş, Adana, Osmaniye, Sakarya, Mardin ve Şanlıurfa illerinde 2014 yılında KYY hastalığının yaygınlığı, sırasıyla %50.7, %38.5, %.37.8, %29.8, %23.1, %17.7, %7.1, %4.5, %2.2 olarak bulunmuştur. 2015 yılında ise, Sakarya'da %81.7, Samsun'da %53.2, Ordu'da %49.1, Osmaniye'de %22.5, Adana'da %8.6, Mardin'de %7.5, Şanlıurfa'da %5.8, ve Mersin'de %1.6 olarak bulunmuştur.
