The Odra River basin in the Chech Republic is heavily polluted by discharges of waste water from industries, muncipalities and agriculture. The level of waste water treatment is low. Due to discharges of nutrients, organic matter, heavy metals and micro pollutants the ambient water quality does not meet Chech water quality standards. The report outlines the environmental problems in the region, assesses the existing environmental data and specifies needed data to develop a water pollution abatement plan for the catchment area. A detailed programme of work for Phase II of the project is elaborated. The report has been prepared jointly by Chech and Norwegian scientists.The Norwegian Ministry of Environment (MD
