Measuring the efficiency of inventive activities along inventive projects in R&D

Measuring the efficiency of inventive design is the first research step to define the key indicators of inventive efficiency. Here, detecting the measurement objects and parameters, and their impact regarding the enhancement of inventive activities provide us with an effective evaluation. For this purpose, this work presents the architectural model of an inventive efficiency measurement in order to realize a vision for the next research steps. We discuss the zone of evaluation, the most appropriate organizational level, the meaning of inventive efficiency, and the other notions of design performance in deal with design efficiency. We aim to clear the principal criteria of measuring inventive efficiency, and to demonstrate the necessity of selecting pertinent entries. The research is backed up by an inquiry from 100 French companies about their R&D organization
