This dynamic instabilities diminished compressor efficiency, reliability, and even loss of engine power leading to catastrophic failure. Therefore, it is extremely important to understand how choke and stall occurs and the causes behind its inception. The interactions between the shock wave and the tip clearance flow have been identified as the primary cause of stall.
