International audienceIn 2012, the Monaco-Mongolia joint archaeological expedition has continued its researches on the Paleolithic of Mongolia thanks to the financing of the Department of International Cooperation of the Principality of Monaco. About 10 square meters were opened on the Tsatsyn Ereg 2 archaeological site (Arkhangaï Province). Excavations ensured to individualize two stratigraphic levels including lithic and bone archaeological remains. Upper level (1) is both the richest and the less disturbed. It contains an industry characterized by blade cores on large face focused on convergent points whose one or both edges are modified by direct retouch.
