International audienceThis article deals with speeches and practices of school aids taking part in the welcoming process of young disabled in nursery schools. Based on a theoretical interactionnist and phenomenological framework and on a qualitative data analysis of semistructured interviews – with fifteen nursery school teachers and six school aids – and of filmed class observations – in two nursery schools during a school year – this research is meant to identify the roles played by the school aids in taking into account disability. The results show that school aids ensure better mediation between the teacher, the young disabled child and his/her pairs of age which can be divided into three parts : interpretation, negotiation and help.
