The aim of my PhD is to analyse the phenomenon of recognition of the homosexual victims of Nazism through their commemoration in Berlin, Paris and Amsterdam. The central questions of this research are: 1°) how the commemoration of the homosexual victims of Nazism has been strategically used to unify different kind of people through a common “we” and 2°) how the commemoration has been strategically deployed to obtain their recognition? In order to answer these questions, I first reconstructed the commemorated event. The second part of the research is devoted to three case studies.
