Jesuítas, antropologia e contexto colonial luso-brasileiro: uma reflexão sobre a formação do conhecimento em ciências humanas

This article discuss the relation between the Jesuit intellectual production during the “Luso Brazilian” colonial period and the process of building a knowledge in human science, mainly Anthropology. It emphasizes how the reports written by the Jesuits in the luso American colonial context (sixteenth and seventeenth centuries) may have influenced the Western European thought contributing to the production of the scientific reports about non European realities by the nineteenth Century.This article discuss the relation between the Jesuit intellectual production during the “Luso Brazilian” colonial period and the process of building a knowledge in human science, mainly Anthropology. Destaca-se a idéia de como esses relatos produzidos pelos jesuítas no contexto da colonização das terras da América Portuguesa (séculos XVI e XVII) podem ter influenciado o pensamento europeu ocidental contribuindo para que, no século XIX, fossem produzidos os primeiros discursos científicos acerca das realidades extra-européias.     &nbsp
