International audienceDuring the last decades, social sciences and environmental psychology studies added important contributions to the knowledge of children's mobility and its evolution in different social and spatial contexts. However, some trends can be observed as far as empirical data are concerned as on scientific consideration, just like effects of collect tools of mobility can be noticed on how to nowadays in the way of apprehending children's mobility.Today, the development of the new technologies infers always more physicalist approaches (such as the approach of walkability) to the detriment of more temporal and more social approaches. Nevertheless, children's mobility is conditioned by social and cultural contexts which participates as much as the physical context. But, when social context is considered it has been and it is often yet from parental perceptions of dangers (ref)., Little study is interested in the family routines as structuring forms of children’s mobility. As well as the temporal dimension in the family’s relationships to urban spaces in its forms of structuring are still too little considered of the childrenBy considering an ecological approach of children's mobility we postulate that evolution of children's mobility is also part of parent's ways of life and especially that children's mobility must also be considered in their relations with family's relations to urban environment. In other word, our approach aims to understand children's mobility in relation with this of their parents. Then we aim to observe and understand the place of children’s informal urban practices. Indeed we postulate that nowadays children's urban practices are more and more formal and well scheduled in space as well as in time. To answer these objectives, an exploratory survey was carried out with families living in urban contexts in Rennes and its bordering surburb. 10- to 13-year-old children and their respective parent (11 families) were involved in the survey. In-depth data about children’s and familiy's experiences, practices, and routines in the context of their everyday life were collected from 1/ GPS data collection over 48h; 2/ and individual semi-directed interviews administrated to children and their parents.We propose for this communication to present three series of results. One about place of informal activities as regard to children’s planned activities in city, to build on two revisited conceptual frameworks stemming on ecological psychology and time geography. These ones will be enriched by speech about unprogrammed activities and about children's autonomy.
