La sororité amazonienne, entre utopie et dystopie :genres du mythe dans Le Repos de Penthésilée de Natacha Michel et Les Assoiffées de Bernard Quiriny

ISSN 2369-3045International audienceThe reception modern history of the Amazons myth reveals its bipolarity from the point of view of gender, the male myth of women exclusion from the social and political field coexisting with a feminine myth of emancipation. Some works bring tension to the two poles of a story where the nightmare of the ones is the ideal of the others, where the emancipatory utopia devolves itself into a gynocracy opposite to individual aspirations (N. Michel), even totalitarian (B. Quériny). These two dystopias actualize the myth in order to describe women communities, identified, or identifiable as Amazons, through their history and their foundation narratives, their beliefs, their relationships to men and children, but also the way they live together (political and social organization, sexuality), all representations whose paper questions the axiological inscription, especially to the prism of the Amazonian value of sorority.L’histoire moderne de la réception du mythe des Amazones révèle sa bipolarité du point de vue du genre, le mythe masculin d’exclusion des femmes du champ social et politique cohabitant avec un mythe féminin d’émancipation. Certaines œuvres font entrer en tension les deux pôles d’un scénario où le cauchemar des uns est l’idéal des autres, où l’utopie émancipatrice se dévoie en une gynocratie contraire aux aspirations individuelles (N. Michel), voire totalitaire (B. Quiriny). Ces deux dystopies actualisent le mythe pour décrire des communautés de femmes identifiées, ou identifiables comme Amazones, à travers leur histoire et leurs récits de fondation, leurs croyances, leurs relations aux hommes et aux enfants, mais aussi la façon dont elles vivent ensemble (organisation politique et sociale, sexualité), représentations dont l’article interroge l’inscription axiologique, notamment au prisme de la valeur amazonienne qu’est la sororité.
